19th September 2010
Windsurfing: felixstowe fludyers
Wind Direction: w
Wind Stength: F4
Surf / Sea State: bumpy
Air Temperature: cool
Sea Temperature: OK
Weather: OK cool
Max Speed: 25.8 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 12 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

the west wind forced everyone to the fludg, which is dreadful at low tide for launching due to the bolders / rocks everywhere. the crew was out and steve c / paul sailed for hours.
again my sail choice was wrong, and yet again my chart was correct (7.8M) but I rigged 9.2M RSS / Rocket 76L as Steve C was on 8.5. wrong! way too big! had to come back in and crank down and outhaul. its was bumpy going out but OK riding in, tide was easy and tried to get some speed but best was 25.8kts on a very broad run, but nose dug in couple if times put me off speed...too bumpy. I was overpowered nearly all the time, not enjoyable :(
Andy has a neat tack thats almost as quick as my gybe!! he luffs up, drops in the water, holding the boom, clew first the boom round, flicks and off he goes! amazing! might try it! when its too windy! Chelsea / man U win double has swelled the wallet so banking for El Medano in Jan :) 4 stars cos I had a delish steam and sauna after :)
